Effective date: October 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Tanicom, LLC (“Tanicom”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit www.tanicom.com (the “Site”), contact us, buy from our online store, or use our software, including the TaniTerm app for Mac (the “App”).
Who we are
Tanicom, LLC provides telecommunications and IT installation services and technician staffing, and sells software and IT tools online. We are based in Los Angeles, California. You can reach us at Show email address or Show phone number.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you use a form on the Site, buy from us or create an account, we collect what you enter:
- Contact form: your name, phone number, email address, company name and location, and your message.
- Crew request form: your name, phone number, email address, service location, number of technicians, project dates and your message.
- Job application: your name, email address, phone number, address, the position you’re applying for, your LinkedIn profile (optional), your answers to our screening questions (driver’s license, travel, drug and background checks), your resume and any note you include.
- Employee accounts: if you are a Tanicom team member, we store your name, email address and login details so you can sign in to the Employee Portal.
- Purchases: your name, email address, billing address, phone number (if you provide it), what you bought, the price, any coupon you used, and your order history. If we ship physical products to you, we also collect your shipping address.
- Payment information: card and wallet payments (such as Apple Pay and Google Pay) are entered directly into a secure form provided by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number or security code; we receive only limited details such as the card type, last four digits and expiration date.
- Customer accounts: an account is created when you buy from us (or receive a gift). We store your name, email address, password (stored only in encrypted, hashed form), orders, license keys and the computers your licenses are activated on.
- Gifts: when you buy a gift, you give us the recipient’s name, email address, an optional message and a delivery date. We use them only to deliver the gift. The recipient receives an email showing your name and your message, and an account is created for them so they can manage their license.
- Support: anything you send us when you ask for help.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our servers record basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site (for example, which pages are viewed and how visitors found us). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect this information. You can opt out at any time – see “Your privacy choices” below.
TaniTerm app
The App is a terminal program that runs on your Mac. It contacts our Site only to check licenses and updates:
- License activation and checks: when you activate a license, about once a month after that, and when you deactivate a computer, the App sends your license key, an anonymous device ID, your computer’s name (for example “Jae’s MacBook Air”) and the App version. The device ID is a one-way code derived from your Mac’s hardware ID; it can’t be turned back into the hardware ID. We use this to activate your license, enforce the number of computers it covers, and show your computers in My Account.
- Update checks: about once a day (you can turn this off in the App’s settings), the App asks our Site which version is newest. This request includes no personal information. Downloads of updates are verified on your Mac before installing.
- What the App never sends us: your sessions, host names, user names, passwords, keys, commands, terminal output, logs or files. These stay on your Mac. Saved passwords are kept in your Mac’s Keychain. Connections you make with the App go directly from your Mac to your devices and servers, not through Tanicom.

Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. We use:
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics, for example
_ga) to measure Site traffic. These are not used if you opt out. - A privacy preference cookie (
tc_optout) that remembers your choice if you opt out. It lasts one year. - Login cookies, only when you sign in to the Employee Portal or to your customer account, to keep you signed in. They last for your session, or two weeks if you choose “Keep me signed in”.
- Store cookies (for example
woocommerce_cart_hash,woocommerce_items_in_cartandwp_woocommerce_session_) that remember what’s in your cart during checkout. They are needed for the store to work and expire within two days. - Payment security cookies set by Stripe on checkout pages (for example
__stripe_midand__stripe_sid) to prevent fraud. See the Stripe cookie policy.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Site and our business, and only as needed for them to provide their services to us:
- Hostinger – website hosting and content delivery.
- Microsoft 365 – email; form submissions are delivered to our company email.
- Stripe – payment processing and fraud prevention. Stripe receives your payment details and the information needed to complete your purchase. See the Stripe Privacy Policy.
- Google – Google Analytics website statistics. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
If you buy a gift, your name and message are shared with the recipient you choose. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or safety, or in connection with a sale or reorganization of our business.
Your privacy choices
You can opt out of analytics cookies at any time using the Privacy choices link at the bottom of every page. Check “Do not sell or share my personal information” and click Save preferences. We also honor the Global Privacy Control signal: if your browser sends it, we treat you as opted out automatically.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
How long we keep information
We keep contact and crew request messages as long as needed to respond and to manage our business relationship with you. We keep job applications and resumes for up to two years so we can consider you for future openings, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Employee Portal accounts are removed when they are no longer needed. We keep order and payment records as long as tax and accounting laws require (generally seven years). We keep license and activation records while your license exists so it keeps working; if you delete your account, we remove your profile and activations but keep the order records the law requires. We may keep some information longer where the law requires it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live – including California, under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) – you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we have collected about you and how we use it;
- request a copy of your personal information;
- ask us to correct or delete your personal information;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information;
- not be treated differently for using these rights.
To make a request, email Show email address or call Show phone number. Customers can also see and update their details, orders and licenses in My Account. We may need to verify your identity before we respond.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access to form submissions, private storage for resumes and Employee Portal files, payment processing by a PCI-compliant provider (Stripe), and digitally signed license data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children’s privacy
The Site, our store and the App are intended for businesses, professionals and job seekers aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last changed.
