Effective date: October 15, 2026
These Terms of Sale (the “Terms”) apply when you buy from the online store at www.tanicom.com (the “Site”), operated by Tanicom, LLC (“Tanicom”, “we”, “us”). They include the software license for TaniTerm and any other software we sell (the “Software”). By placing an order, or by installing or using the Software, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t buy or use the Software.
1. Orders and prices
- Prices are shown in U.S. dollars at checkout. Applicable sales tax, if any, is added at checkout.
- Sale prices and coupons apply only during the period shown and can’t be applied to past orders.
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- We may refuse or cancel an order in case of a pricing error, suspected fraud, or if a product becomes unavailable. If we cancel a paid order, we refund the full amount.
- You must be at least 18 years old to buy from the Site.
2. Delivery of software
Software is delivered digitally. Right after payment, your license key is emailed to you and is always available in My Account ▸ Licenses. The installer is available on the product page. No physical item is shipped for software purchases.
3. Free trial
TaniTerm can be used free for 14 days without a license key, with every feature included. We offer the trial so you can confirm that the Software works with your Mac, your devices and your workflow before you buy. Please use it.
4. All sales are final
Because the Software is digital, delivered instantly and can be fully tried before purchase, all sales are final and non-refundable, except as described in our Refund Policy or as required by law. By completing your purchase, you agree that delivery of the license key begins immediately and that you will not have a right to cancel once it has been delivered.
5. Software license
The Software is licensed, not sold. When you buy a license, Tanicom grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software, subject to these Terms:
- Computers: one TaniTerm license can be active on up to 2 computers at a time that you own or control. You can move a license to a new computer by removing an old one in My Account ▸ Licenses.
- Who may use it: a license is for one person. You may use the Software for personal or business purposes, including work for your employer or your clients.
- Updates: your license includes free updates for the same major version (for example, all 1.x releases of TaniTerm). A future major version may be offered as a paid upgrade.
- You may not: share, sell, rent or publish your license key; get around the license check or trial; reverse engineer, decompile or modify the Software, except where the law expressly allows it; or use the Software for anything illegal or to access systems you aren’t authorized to access.
- License checks: the Software contacts tanicom.com to activate your license and to check it about once a month. It sends your license key, an anonymous computer ID, the computer’s name and the app version. See our Privacy Policy.
- Open-source components: the Software includes open-source components that are covered by their own licenses, listed in the app under TaniTerm ▸ Acknowledgements.
We may suspend or end a license if it is shared, resold, obtained by fraud, or used in violation of these Terms, or if the payment for it is reversed or charged back. If a license ends, you must stop using the Software.
6. Gifts
You may buy a license as a gift. You choose the recipient and delivery date after checkout and can change them until the gift is delivered or activated. Once delivered, the license belongs to the recipient. Gift purchases are final sales like any other purchase.
7. Your responsibility
TaniTerm is a tool for sending commands to network devices and servers. You are responsible for the commands you send, the systems you connect to, and keeping backups of your configurations and data. Always review commands, especially commands sent to several sessions at once or by step-by-step commands, before running them on production equipment.
8. Warranty disclaimer
We work hard to make our Software reliable, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don’t promise that the Software will be error-free, uninterrupted or compatible with every device.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tanicom will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, network outages or business interruption, arising from your purchase or use of the Software, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability for any claim relating to a purchase will not exceed the amount you paid for that purchase. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
10. Export and lawful use
The Software includes encryption. You agree to follow U.S. export laws and not to use, export or re-export it to any country, person or entity where that is prohibited.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, unless the law of your place of residence requires otherwise.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect when you place an order applies to that order. The effective date at the top shows when these Terms last changed.
